                                                                  IN MEMORIAM

                                                                      GINO PEPE

Gino, a 20 year plus member of the Brevard County HSC, passed away on April 8, 2015 after a long struggle with lung cancer.  During his years as a member of the FSHPA he would pitch in 20 or more tournaments a year plus pitching in the Brevard County HSC league in both the spring and fall sessions.  He ranked in the top 20 of the men’s ringer percentages during the last several years.  He was well known throughout the state as a fierce competitor.  He will be missed by his friends in horseshoes.

                                                               GERALD “JERRY” WATSON

Another member of the Brevard County HSC was taken away by a hit and run driver on May 7, 2015.  Jerry had returned to horseshoe pitching earlier this year and became a member of the Brevard County HSC.  He loved the game and worked very hard to raise his ringer percentage.  He was so proud and happy when he won the Triple Crown award at this year’s State Closed Tournament.  He will be missed by his new friends at the Brevard County HSC.

                                                           PROPOSED RULE CHANGES

The State delegates will vote on several proposed Rules changes at the convention at the World Tournament this year.   One proposal of lowering the age in which a male can pitch from 30 feet to 65 from the now 70 years of age is drawing a lot of attention.  All the proposed rule changes can be seen on the NHPA web site.
